The role of the insurance team includes the following:
- Procure appropriate insurance covers to minimise the Group's risk exposure.
- Provide a claims handling service.
- Deal with insurance related pre-contract enquiries.
- Provide insurance administration service.
- Administer residents' household contents insurance schemes.
- Provide insurance related advice and training.
Orbit Residents' Household Contents Insurance
Obtain peace of mind for as little as £3.90 a month (£2.60 if aged 60 or over) depending on which area of the country you live in.
Orbit's Household contents insurance is arranged with Aviva Insurance UK Ltd. Payments are made on a monthly basis by swipe card at Payzone outlets, at the Post Office, by direct debit or via a debit or credit card. The policy briefly covers: -
- Losses to contents from fire, theft, vandalism and water damage.
- Accidental damage to televisions, TV aerials, hi-fi equipment, video recorders, home computer equipment, decoders and DVD players - up to the amount insured.
- Accidental damage to mirrors and fixed glass - up to the amount insured.
- Loss of freezer contents - up to the amount insured.
- Loss or theft of keys/replacement locks - up to the amount insured.
- Loss or damage to contents in outbuildings and garages - up to a limit of £2,000.
- Fatal accident - £5,000 death benefit (No Age Limit).
- Personal liability - up to a limit of £2,000,000 per incident or £5,000 if the claim involves a domestic employee.
- Tenant's liability - up to a limit of 20% of the amount insured.
Full accidental damage cover for your home contents (limit of up to 25% of the amount insured any one claim) is available from £4.87 per month (or £3.25 if aged 60 or over). The monthly amount payable depends on the sum insured and the Orbit operational area office that manages your property.
